The program cannot output. Lets say my user directory is "c:\users\Joe Blow". The program creates and wants to output to "C:\users\Joe" Not the correct folder.

Wow, fast response with positive results. Works just fine. Thanks!

Just learning the program but is there a way to group these wave files by recording session and playback all wave files for that session like the scanner does?

If I understand the question correctly, if you know the specific timestamped folder you want to process, you can enter the full path. For example:

x36read-0.8b \users\joe\desktop\user_rec\2014-09-20_14-12-13

Understood, but I was thinking if you process all your timestamp folders, the output file could be color coded for each session along with the option to play back the entire session of your choice. Just put this in the idea bucket. Thanks....

Sorry - I'm still not understanding what you are trying to describe.

Is there a way to have the x36 program running in the background when the scanner is on.

I have the scanner feeding my broadcastify.com feed.
I would to log the groups and IDs when I am alway.

Thanks

To my knowledge, the only option to capture data is via the recordings (and perhaps some discovery logging option). The recordings are stored on the SD card. The SD card isn't available for external access while the radio is in operation/scanning.

This program is designed to extract the logging data from the recordings on the SD card.

Awesome Program

This is a great program, it makes the recorded audio actually useful!
I am not sure if the radio saves this data but if it does can you add
CTCSS Tone or NAC for conventional frequencies?

Awesome Job

As you process each individual timestamp folder you could highlight the output differently for each folder so you can visually see which recordings go with each session. And then as a bonus figure out a way to play back the entire session. A session being one timestamp folder.

"session" != folder. x36 scanners create a new folder every 100 or so audio files, regardless of any other consideration. A new folder does not indicate a new listening session or scanner power cycle; it only means the previous folder hit the scanner's 100-file limit.

Thanks.

As far as the CTCSS and NAC, etc., I've made attempts to display the data that is available. Seem that just like in the case of radio IDs for trunked system users, the information isn't always captured as part of the recording. On the other hand, I may have just not gotten that quite right yet with the limited conventional sampling I've done.

If you want to send me some samples of your recordings that you believe have this information captured (you can see it in the playback from the within the radio), I'll work on it.

OK - I thought that's what you meant. I'm not sure that is in keeping with the direction I've moved given the systems are split into different files but I'll give it some thought.

And then as a bonus figure out a way to play back the entire session. A session being one timestamp folder.

I've been experimenting with improving the playback experience. Mostly, at this point, allowing for playback without clicking a link and opening new windows/tabs. I have this working (for both Chrome and Firefox) but in my test data sets, the files are just getting too large for a browser.. Even after filtering, I now have 63,000 recordings for one systems (just since July) and the output file for that system alone varies between 32-45 Mb. Still considering options.....

As for playing a whole session (or some other grouping of recordings) - I'll give that some thought.

And for you Home Patrol (HP-1) users -- I now have a first cut at handling those files within the same program. Hopefully, I'll have a release to post soon.

Troy,

I am able to get it read the wav files from the radios. So that's good

I did an experiment I have using audacity to record a wave flle . One session about 3 hrs and the another 2-3 minutes of traffic. Either the contained no useful info or the x36hp program did not read them.

Has anyone tried to use the audacity with this program ?

NAC

I do not see NAC or CTCSS on the replay on the radio,
so maybe it does not save that information.
Do you have an email I can send an audio file
if you still want to look at it.

The program will only read the recordings made by the BCDx36HP radios (and soon the HP-1). Recordings made by other methods won't be read by the program.
