Anyone have a working Whistler profile that they're willing to share?

I started over from scratch, and programmed a PRO-669 and a WS-1095 and neither are receiving anything.

My Uniden continues to pick up the new system.

Are you seeing the "T" (tracking the trunk control channel) on the Whistler or not even seeing that?

Thanks hosehead88, I'll take a look at it and see if it will work for me.

I am NOT seeing the T on my displays.

OK, I don't get a T on the display, but I do get an S on the display. If I sit and watch it, the S occasionally quickly changes to a T then back to an S.

Anyway, I'm at least hearing some things on it, so I'm ahead of where I was. Now to figure out what was wrong.

Thanks hosehead88!

Let's keep working on it to get it running as smoothly as possible.

I have exactly the same setup on my 1088. I have a little Watson W-889 antenna in a building surrounded by electronics (and no windows in my office). I am at the NE corner of Manchester Township at work and have the PD and the FD/EMS banks coming in loud and clear. I get an occasional quick T but mostly S, if that makes you feel better.

Given it's yet another a nasty simulcast system, your location in relation to a system/site tower/transmitter is going to make a huge difference. I forgot that I had previously plotted some of the towers ....

Troymail, simulcast always pisses me off. Lol. I live less than a mile from Dauphin County and have issues with their system on the same scanner that picks up York perfectly. Of course, that clears up when I am in my vehicle with an external antenna. One of these days I will mount an antenna on my house.

Yup - for (all of my - regardless of manufacturer) scanners, it is mostly going to be directly affected by your location. When I lived in Maryland, I was constantly looking for "sweet spots" for my scanners... I have different locations for each radio trying to monitor different sites of different systems... unfortunately, those "sweet spots" changed - sometimes in a few weeks but sometimes every couple of days... it got really old.....

It's not like the old days where you could just program the radio and it just works.

I've lived away from simulcast for 8-9 months now and don't miss it (I'm dealing with completely different issues here). I return to Maryland on short visits regularly and sometimes find myself doing the "sweet spot" search but throw my hands in the air and quickly say "nevermind - I'm not here long enough for this" (and I now have my G5 to use for the simulcast beasts).

Anyone notice the DTMF tone bursts on the EMS-to-hospital talk groups? Any idea what practical purpose this could serve? For the record, it seems to be produced when the hospital base station transmits, so the idea that it's some sort of selective-call attempt is out.

Can't pickup any control channels in the Yoe, Pa area

I have both a ws1088 and a BCD 996p2. Both work great in the Red Lion area. I guess the signal is from the TV49 tower. I've tested both scanners at a site in Yoe close to station 36 and can't pickup the control channels on the Central system on either scanner. Is there a new tower in at FOX43 and if there is, shouldn't that cover the Spring Wood Road and Yoe area. Never had any previous problems with scanners in Yoe. Is this issue something that will be corrected in the future or will a antenna now be needed. Will one of those Yagi antennas work?

York P25 System

I'm in Lancaster and lost listening to most everything here due to the recent encryption. So I thought I'd take a listen to York. Turned on those sites but heard nothing. I was just told today that they did another upgrade to the system, or a whole new system. I assume in the 700mhz band. Looking over the posts here, it seems they have gone Phase 2. Out of luck again. My old scanner wont do P2.

Is there any law enforcement in York I can still listen to without P2?

Thanks

996p2 no receive

You should be able to receive the new system good in the Wrightsville area. As far as I know, there is a tower in the area. I have a 996p2 programed with Butel XT using Radio Reference for uploading the system.
It works great in the Red Lion area!

I'm still trying to find out if someone knows if there is a tower working on the top of South Queen street hill. Seems like there is a lot of dead spots west of Red Lion. I've read in this forum that the 700mhz doesn't have very good range.
