Ineresting article. M/A COM actually admitted that they had not installed a system as large as York County's with the particular bandwidth being used. So in other words York County is a big beta tester.

It's even more interesting - turns out that the guy who's doing the legal stuff is running for office, and might possibly not be entirely altruistic here:

Can You Hear Me Now? - CBS 21

"We're told now we're about 90% there (with the radios working). I went out with York City police - I didn't hear any problems with the system," says York County Commissioner Steve Chronister.

Those who filed the lawsuit gave the county commissioners until February 1st to fix the existing problems... including the most vocal: York County FOP President John Fishel. Fishel just announced on February 2nd that he's running for District Justice. Fishel couldn't be reached for comment by deadline today, but some think his run for DJ is what's behind this public complaint.

"Now we're finding out this was a political issue to cause fear in the people of York County for no reason," says Chronister.

"What (Fishel's) doing personally doesn't involve the safety of our officers here in York," says Pace.

Who'd have thought that politics might get in the way? :)
