Hi all and thanks in advance for any responses
I'm new to this and clueless as to whether a Uniden BC95XLTB will work for york region police. i understand that the scanner works on the 800 mhz range but does the "trunking" mean anything as this scanner doesnt have "trunktracker III" as a feature?

A trunk tracking scanner is needed to properly follow conversations on this system.

While you can program in the freq. and listen to them on a BC95XLT, the conversations will jump around from freq. to freq. and since the control channel rotates daily, you will have to lock it out or unlock it each day.

If you haven't purchased yet and want to listen to York, look at a scanner such as a PSR-300 or BC346XT.

For analog trunktracking, sure.

If you want a base unit you could look into a uniden bct15 or bct15x both can be had for about the same as the psr-400.

Or theres the UNIDEN HomePatrol too. Its digital and very easy to program. It may seem kinda pricey but in my opinion its well worth it.
