I have had both York Region AND toronto both in my scanner from almost day 1 of activation and hear NOTHING so most likely everything is encrypted and we are witnessing the end of our Scanner hobby SIGH....
The reasoning behind why they were investigating that particular setup wasn't shared with me.
I can only guess that they want address details, nature of the call and contact information kept private.
But like I said, it was only one of the options they were investigating.
That would make a lot of sense. They switch to the Dispatch/Ops channel for call details and switch over to TAC for the call...
An probably so the media and those vultures (tows) can't find where an accident or fire etc...will be at

For those who have relied on scanners as a means of gathering information on what is happening in York Region are now asked to contact Media Relations Officers or the Duty Inspectors Office after hours. Officers will be available to answer questions on what’s happening throughout the region.

Well, all of us who listen to York are gathering information about York Region... keep calling!
"Is there anything happening?"
"No."
... "is there anything happening now?"
"no."
... "what about now?"
depends who has the police contract for York region.as for the 400 series highways, doesnt the OPP broadcast first available tow?
