Does anyone have any info on possible new PD radios for Yorktown. I know they have been having a lot of trouble with them recently and they went to the Town Board a few months ago requesting a new system.
Today I have heard nothing on the current frequency.

That was mentioned in the MRRS thread yesterday.

It also seems like Yorktown PD has been doing more extensive testing on MRRS today or they fully switched over. Most activity on MRRS and their VHF hasn't been active since 14:30 today. Yorktown EMS Still remains on VHF.

Sure. They are on MRRS TG 9548. Not sure if they are still testing the system or fully switched over, altho their vhf is silent and active mostly on MRRS.

They were having issues with coverage and the hariss radios sat unused for over a year. But the new subsite is up and coverage has improved so.

and just so I understand this is not a digital system correct...conventional trunk?
Conventional and trunking are exact opposites; no such thing as a "conventional trunk", it's one or the other. The MRRS is a P25 Phase II system, which is 100% digital trunking.

Yes, its conventional trunk. 100%. Don’t listen to the others. 😂

All kindding aside its a digital P25 Phase 2 system. Yorktown PD is TDMA.

maybe, maybe not. What might work for one person might not work for another.

What @62Truck said! 100%. No hurt in trying different antennas in this case.

My SDR picks them up fine, but my SDS200 does poorly, and yet they are connected to the same antenna.

It's very ironic that the people trying to listen to the department in their town are having trouble, yet others outside that town are not. For example, someone listening to Port Chester PD in the village of Port Chester struggles to hear PD, yet someone in White Plains can hear them with no problem. But that's just the nature of Simulcast distortion.
