Yosemite Buses Crash

2 buses from newman were coming into park on day trip, on hwy 120 towards the valley, about a mile from the valley, one bus rear ended the other bus, about 40 injuries total, about 20 of those are going to john c fremont hosp in mariposa, minor to moderate injuries, back and neck, nothing life threatening, about 15 ambulances have just about got them packed up and on their way. Minor injuries are going to yosemite med clinic, uninjured being brought into valley, yellow middle school in newman, first bus 42 kids 9 adults, second bus 37 kids 11 adults. Happened at 1055am. Ranger on scene says the buses do not have major damage, some front end damage and a broken window. Buses were in a Contruction zone, going about 15 mph.

--- 13 patients (12 students; 1 adult) being transported
--- 4 to mercy comm in merced, 3 to Docs med in modesto, 6 to yosemite medical clinic
--- injuries described as minor to moderate
--- all going by ground ambulance; no heliocopters!!!
--- non injured going to yosemite village; damaged school buses going to yosemite village
--- 1st bus had 42 kids, 9 adults, 1 driver
--- 2nd bus had 37 kids, 11 adults, 1 driver (2nd bus rear-ended the first)
