Youngstown Ohio 158.730 mhz.

I'm about 40 miles from their location and I used to be able to receive the repeater just fine despite the distance. But over the last week week and a half nothing nada coming from them. Any suggestions as to why this is will be much appreciated. My scanners are the pro 2044 and the 100 channel radio shack handheld from 2004.

YPD appears to be running full time encryption

As mentioned above, the days of hearing Youngstown PD are over (just like the days of steel making in the Valley).

Sadly, they are full time encrypted on all channels.

Someone should update the DB it doesn't indicate any encryption.

Terrible news. Even my local PD went encrypted and we have less than 6000 residents.

It's the sign of the times. And it's probably only going to get worse.

Oh well at least I still have railroad, Ham and Youngstown airport to listen to. All is not lost.
