Just wondering what your first scanner was and if you still have it and use it.

Me, Mine was a Uniden BC 70XLT. It has been in the closet for almost 10 years, & it does still work.

Radio Shack PRO-2020. 1985. Still running 24/7 in my Dad's garage. Doesn't decode digital but can receive analog public safety, aircraft, and towboats.

First scanner then some more.

My first scanner plus many more in this order

1- radio shack pro 2021 base around 1987
2- radio shack pro 38 handheld around 1990
3- uniden bearcat 2500 1994
4- radio shack trunk tracker pro 90
5- uniden trunk tracker 2 bc245xlt
6- uniden trunk tracker 3 cb 780xlt
7- radio shack pro 164
8- grecom psr310

I still have the last 6 of these. I am really impressed with the grecom psr-310. At first I was a little Leary of the grecom name because I thought they weren't in the same class as uniden but it is actually a great scanner. I wish they would have stayed in business.

Im sure your getting more action in Fredericksburg :). I'm getting ready to head out to Pittsburgh for a few nights. I wish I had my new scanner in.

Yep, a scanner is more active here in the Fredericksburg area. Doesn't mean that interesting things don't happen back home though.

My first scanner was a Regency ACT-R10H/L/U. A retired gentlemen I mowed grass for as a teenager gave it to me; he said it never worked right and he just wanted to get rid of it. Turned out that whoever installed the crystals used bad crystals and crystals which weren't right for our area. I spent about $50 getting the right crystals for it and it worked great. Used it for three years and sold it to buy a used Pro-32 programmable. I was very happy with the Regency.

Sony Air-8 back in the 80s. Dedicated to aviation but had VHF hi-band and I ended up listening to Nashville PD mostly. Before they went 800.
