My ZUMspot is doing great on DMR...not so great on DStar. Constant disconncets and reconnects on any reflector I use. Curious...if I connect the ZUMspot to Ethernet instead of Wifi, will I still be able to access the dashboard through wifi. The more I use the hot spot the more I think it's the crappy Xfinity wreless gateway. Thanks in advance

Sounds like you access the dashboard via IP, so that’s WiFi or Ethernet.

You would still access the dashboard the same way. No changes there wired or wireless

OK. It amazes me that Xfinity can't handle my Pi-Star. I'm listening to DMR and the DMR Network lights up yellow on my admin page. Forget about D Star LOL. That I can access with a DVAP Dongle more reliably.

ANY ideas as to why this is happening? Linking, linked…two minutes later rinse and repeat. Radio is NOT on, listening through my 8600 after having the Zumspot establish the link. This still occurs though even if I use the radio to establish the link then change it to CQCQCQ. This is extremely frustrating. DMR has spotty problems but nothing like the Dstar

Have you udated your Zumspot lately? The current version running on Buster will be EOL unless you with over to the W0CHP dashboard. He has Zumspot specific OS that you can burn to your SD card and be up and running with the latest OS. Go to www.w0chp.net and check it out.

Thanks for all the replies. Turns out all I had to do was plug the Zumspot into one of the ethernet ports and reboot the Zumspot. The problem is the garbage equipment that Xfinity gives out. It can't handle having two ethernet devices and two wirelesss devices at the same time. The Zumsport is still running wifi, but is using the ethernet to connect. No disconnects n DStar or DMr. Monday I'll be going to Xfinity and demanding a new gateway.

Do yourself a favor and buy your own modem and router. It's going to outperform whatever crap Comcast gives you.

Bingo. Takes a bit of research but works out best. I bought a DOCSIS 3.0 modem before my ISP supported that version and it paid for itself in 8 months. These days, we get a copper hand off so no more modems. I have used a separate router and WiFi for years; it's the best experience.

I had an Apple Airport that finally died on me. I was using the Scamcast in bridge mode. Damned Apple doesn't make the airports anymore. Then again...quality control at Apple has been dead for a while LOL
