Default Voice recording and long term effects on memory?

I've been spending more time in the Uniden forum with the SDS100 release and with all the discussions about flash memory and the limited number of write cycles on the memory, it got me thinking about the G4/G5 and if the voice storage functionality will eventually run into the same issues or if I'm needlessly worrying about a nonexistent problem?

Forgive me if this has been addressed before but I wasn't able to find anything on a cursory search of the topics in the subforum.

The Unidens use a SD card where the Unications do not.

But what kind of internal memory is in the Unication? Flash memory doesn't have to be packaged in an external card with contacts, it can also be soldered onto a PCB and still have the same write limitations/life expectancy.

This thread got me thinking, so I started looking at the "Voice Storage" setting in the PPS. If you look at tab D4 (Group ID Setting) there is a check box for Voice Storage. The help menu states:

Voice Storage
Definition
To start recording voice message when receive selective call from this ID.

Options
1. Uncheck: Do not record the voice call when receive this TGID's voice calls.
2. Check (Default): Record the voice call when receive this TGID's voice calls.

Then when you go to tab D5 (Zone & Channel Setting) you will see another checkbox for Voice Storage.

The help menu once again states:

Voice Storage
Definition
To start recording voice message when receive voice call from this ID.

Options
1. Uncheck: Do not record the voice call when receive this TGID's voice calls.
2. Check (Default): Record the voice call when receive this TGID's voice calls.

So my question is does one checkbox supersede the other?
