Great reminder. We should all put our names and numbers on the back of our G4 and G5 units in case something similar happens.

Good point

The g5 I found had the rank , name & contact number on the screen when I found it
That made it easy to find the rightful owner

This one seems to be programmed to the 763/870 band per the screen

I'm sure the owner was very grateful. Nice work!

Same here - name, phone and email - although I did it as a banner/graphic so I could adjust the font size and fit everything in along with a graphic.

Still not a bad idea to put your contact info on the outside just in case the battery dies.... I dropped my original G4 in the backyard using the standard beltclip (never again!).... thankfully, I could feel the change in weight hanging from my belt and found it right away....

Mine has my fire company logo on the screen along with my name and phone#, then a smaller sticky label with my name/phone# adhered to the side in case the battery is flat. After that it's a question of "finder honesty" - at least I've given myself a chance if I misplace the unit.

While I like the small and discrete size of my G4, I guess this thread points out a downside to that feature. I think I may make a "property of..." or "if found please contact..." sticker with my name and email address on it just in case. Maybe offer a reward.

davidzimmerman - according to your shack photos, you have one of the cleanest shacks I have ever seen .
