I wonder if those occasional sale prices extend to Amazon for Canada? I have never looked.
The current price for the BCD436HP new is around CDN$ 591.

You have to check periodically. The price fluctuates.

Also check out Amazon Warehouse Deals. You can get indistinguishable-from-new stuff that was returned for big discounts.
