HP-2: Good for Niagara Region reception

I am looking a purchasing a HP-2 unit.

1) Does anyone have any experience with this unit in the Niagara Region (Canada)?
2) Any other unit suggestions, if HP-2 is not recommended?

It won't help you much in your area. Lots of encryption.

Instead look at a BCD 436HP with a DMR upgrade. It also will hold the complete US and Canada database and allow replaying audio.
