Do experienced Uniden users presume that the upcoming SDS100 will be field-programmable by a non-zip-code manner (like the Whistler TRX-1)? I would prefer “optional” not ”mandatory” use of the zip code method in the field. Trying to make some decisions.

Since the ×36hp models are I am guessing yes. And if I remember right all uniden models are "field programmable".

You absolutely can feild program the SDS100. I have on several occasions for testing specific systems/features.

It's become very natural for me with hand programming with brief descriptions then upload into Sentinel for more details later.

All of our digital scanners can be programmed by hand (HP1/2 require extreme upgrade).
