Just wanted to drop by to thank Uniden/UPMan and anyone else that contributed to the creation of the SDS100. I live 15 miles SW of downtown Louisville and until I received my SDS on Saturday (thanks to Jeff at Ham Station), I was unable to monitor Louisville's MetroSafe with my 436, or any other radio. It was so choppy due to the simulcast that it wasn't worth it. I'm happy to report that the SDS has cured my problem. I live on the Indiana side of the river, so I'm often monitoring the Indiana Safe-T along with my other local agencies, but that can be a little boring. It's non-stop chaos over in Louisville, which keeps me entertained. So far, I haven't experienced any problems following their dispatch channels from my house. Like some, I haven't yet performed any technical assessments of the radio nor tested the range, but it passed my one test of being able to listen to MetroSafe from my house with flying colors. It is a massive improvement over my 436! Thanks to everyone that contributed!
