I just purchased a HP-1 from Scanner Master.
The Firmware Version is:2.05
Data Version is 12/12/2011
Help Version is 12/07/2011
What should the latest versions be?
I can use either Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Seems like you just need to update the HP data base then write to the home patrol.

2.05 is the latest firmware.

The latest database will be from today or yesterday.

The help version may be the latest - not sure.

Win7 or 8 should be fine.

Install Sentinel, connect the scanner, and click the UPDATE menu item and you can check and/or update the database and firmware.

I was finally able to get Sentinel software to function correctly. I was able to download the current database version 6/7/15.

I lost my computer had to do a reinstall windows 10 loaded up sentinel software, date comes up 01/01/0001 try to update and it can't read scanner or update hpdb what am I missing that will not let sentinel run right.

You only need a driver (other than the Windows driver) if you have the extended option and use as a serial device.

It is just a mass storage device.

Connect it to Sentinel and click on Update Firmware and it will check for / and install the latest firmware if needed.
