NXDN Data in RR

I see Pennsylvania Power Lighting (PPL) in a Digital Frequency Search for NXDN in Schuylkill County PA.

When would this info appear in the RR database for download to Sentinel?

Is this stuff happening automatically, or is it all user entered into RR.

I'm a little confused on how to get this into Sentinel as NXDN

As to where - either under statewide or the county - but that data only indicates a liscenseto use that, not that they are, or even if they ever will.


Common to get a lic. for mulipleemmision modes, just in case.

The license (WQYB864) indicates that it is a conventional (IG) license with 4 khz emissions (NXDN or IDAS). You are only interested in the "FB2" frequencies, as those are the repeater outputs. There is no guarantee the sites are online. And if they are online they may be conventional NXDN or NEXEDGE/IDAS trunked.

Regardless of whether they are conventional or trunked, if they are online and your Uniden scanner has the NXDN upgrade, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to hear them.

1. You've have to add them to a Favorites list in Sentinel manually

This is because they are not published in the RRDB because nobody has confirmed them to be online.

2. You should be able to just add them as standard NXDN channels with a wildcard RAN

This would allow you to hear anything on them if they do transmit (in the clear).

If Schuylkill County is being used like Lehigh County, it could be a while before you hear anything. I don't remember if Lehigh was listed as conventional or trunked, but it seems to be used as conventional. Comms are few and far between.

It is not online yet. There working on getting the Dauphin Co. / York / Lancaster system running. Then Berks / Schuylkill.

Sorry -- I guess you just set "Digital Code: Search"

If you choose an option for DMR Color Code, P25 NAC or NXDN RAN then you have to enter a RAN.

Under "Audio Options"

Audio Type: Digital Only
Digital Option: Digital Code Search

If you ever do hear anything on them, they will display the code (the RAN in this case). And once you know the RAN you can choose to set a specific RAN instead down the road.

In case you don't know, the way to submit new information on systems for review, go to the top menu line where it says:

Home, Databases, Live Audio ... Submit Info ...

The "Submit Info" takes you to this page:

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/submit/

From there, just follow the instructions.
