436 case

I just bought the nylon case for the 436.The case is well made and seems to provide good protection.
My question is, are you supposed to take off the factory-installed belt clip knob on the back? The scanner will fit with it on, but seems very tight.

It won't hurt to take it off. Does the case have it's own belt attachment method, or do you just don't need it?
