+1 on Eneloop. Also, charge them using an external charger that handles each battery individually…like the Eneloop AA charger. A few of my Eneloop AA batteries finally failed after about a decade of use.

If i want to make a few changes to some of my groups with the channels and upload (update) that to the scanner would I just choose the Upload configuration button and check off the ones im making changes to?
