Just looking for anyone who has used the repair service, and looking to see if my problem would even be able to be fixed by them. Just wanting to make sure im not throwing my money away by paying the non refundable fee, and then being told its not repairable. Let me explain my situation and maybe someone of you can tell me whether to send it in, or save my money. I have a BCD436HP that up until now worked as it should. A few weeks back I went to plug in the charger and noticed a pop and then the classic burnt ic smell. Now the unit is dead. I opened it up to see what happened and found two burnt ic’s. The first was a Cirrus chip that is on the main board mid way down in the center on the opposite side as the display. The other is a samller unknown ic about middle ways down and to the left, also on the same side at the other ic. It seem like it may have burnt some of the copper traces leading to the chips as well. Im going to post some pics shortly.
Anyone of you who have had the pleasure of dealing with the repair department let me onow if you think im wasting my time and money. Any comments about the situation would be greatful.

Thanks
Will

Prety sure they would replace the entire board if need be (at that price). I'd guess that happens more than you think.

Agree. Complete board replacement. That PCB is damaged beyond repair. The question to ask will be, if the repair requires the circuit board to be replaced, is that covered in the flat fee for repair. If so, well worth the price to repair which I think I saw was $79.95. The only issue that night prevent the repair would be if the parts are not available. They may or may not make an entire PCB available for a repair. I would be sure to ask enough questions about the possibility to replace the circuit board.

Good Luck.
