BC125AT: newbie having trouble......

I have a new bc125 scanner. I'm having trouble listening to my local PD. According to the frequency listing I should be able to hear them. They are available on my scanner app....broadcatify.

Could they have gone digital or am i not setting the scanner up correctly....

PS. Putnam County Ohio Sheriff Department is what I'm trying to listen to.

Looks like the Putnam County SO is on the Ohio MARCS system.

Your BC125 is not going to work on that system.

Possibly using the state system and the conventional channel is backup or no longer in use?

If they are digital now, I don't think the BC125 will work as it is an analog non-trunking scanner.

That's my guess is that they primarily dispatch on the Ohio MARCS system. My local sheriff's department also has its conventional VHF frequencies listed in the database, but they only use them very rarely as a backup or for giving out BOLOs. The sheriff's department uses the state AWIN system probably 99.9% of the time.

There are two listings for the Putnam County Sheriff Dept.
The first is the Conventional frequency you posted.
The second is a Talk Group on the Ohio MARCS-IP system:
54843 d63b D SO69DISP Sheriff Dispatch Law Dispatch.

They use MARCS now. They haven't even narrow-banded their license on that old frequency so I doubt if they even have radios for it anymore.
