Default Custom search vs Discovery Mode

What is the difference between "custom search", and "discovery" on the 436hp?

Ive had the 436HP for a long time, but can't tell what the main differens in between the two modes to search for new frequencies ... i mainly use the discovery mode when the radio is home alone, and it records transmisions it finds, but does the custom search do anything different?

Yes. It enables you to search frequency ranges that you specify along with all the accompanying parameters (modulation, delay, etc...).
I won't log anything unless you start recording, nor will it log hits and audio in folders.
