I have a Uniden BC 200 xlt that is still working well... we use it for storm reports and mostly 2 meter Ham listening.
This old standby has the original battery... you guessed it... it does not hold a charge! We only use this as it is plugged into AC for a half hour or so at a time.
Here is the question:
I know the original battery pack is TOAST... so... can i use this radio plugged into AC for extended periods of time without damaging the radio itself?
I am not worried about the TOASTED battery pack.
I am thinking of using it similar to a desktop, keeping it plugged in and scanning for hours at a time.
Yes I looked all over this forum... did not find an answer to this.
Thank you
