I am a rank neophyte, so be gentle!
I have a Uniden BC296D and am attempting to accomplish the re-programming necessary to once again hear the locals and not having much luck. I have done the firmware upgrade successfully, as well as using Proscan and the database on this site, which seemed to go well too.
However, the only transmissions that I receive are "noise".
I even had a local guy that's been doing reprogramming for others around the area take a look at it and he is getting the same thing. The radio worked before the rebanding. He said this is the first radio that he's done that had this issue, though I don't know if he's done any this model radio before.
I know this isn't much to go on, but if anyone has any ideas (short of buying a new radio though that may be what it comes down to) I'd appreciate it!
