as I stated in the title, my BCD536 internal speaker sounds muffled on most channels. when I compare it to the same frequencies on my HP1 and BCD396xt it becomes even more obvious that there is a distinct difference in how the speaker sounds. just wondering if this normal for this scanner or do I have an isolated issue?

Was it that way out of the box or did it happen later after using it for a time?
out of the box, only had it about 1 1/2 weeks
I'd check it with an external speaker if you have one. The connector on the rear is mono. Also you may want to check volume levels with headphones on the front panel connector.
connected it to an external speaker and it sounded terrible on all channels (probably the speaker i used), and I already know there is an issue with the front panel Headphone jack, but giving the side by side with the other scanners it sounds like an issue with the speaker
