New SLCPD Public Safety Building and EOC

The bond vote passed, with 66%.

Design is expected to take 1 year, construction 2 years.

They hope to move in by 2012.

Dispatch and 911 will move into a separate EOC building. There's a possibility this facility will also house state EOC operations as well. Should be quite the state of the art facility in terms of equipment for dispatch.

Been a long time coming. Frankly, I'm glad they finally approved the bond for this project. I can't imagine working in the conditions that must be present in the building now being used. Hell, the old building that used to stand where the library is now had better conditions, in my opinion.
