Event 16

During the recent operation at the Nutty Putty Cave, I was seeing Fire agencies from Salt Lake and Utah counties using Event 16 used as their main operating channel.

I thought Event 16 was used by Cache County, and was linked to 153.8375?

That WAS true before we got UCAN - not heard anymore, especially since there are 5 OPS channels to assign at will.

While at work on Wednesday I was able to hear operations at Nutty Putty on Event 16 over Cache Simulcast for about 1/2 hour, but not as a link to a VHF frequency. My guess is someone in Cache County had their 800 Mhz radio tuned to that TG for a bit and was affiliated to Cache Simulcast. That's just a guess though.

Ok, that confirms Event 16 is back to being an "as needed" channel. Good info, thanks. One more question, what channel does Cache County use as a regional (UCAN's definition of regional)?
