West Wendover P25 encrypted

OK, before any nit-picker makes a comment or complaint,
I know that W Wendover is in Nevada, and this is the Utah Forum!

Anyway, while returning home from a vacation, we came through
West Wendover and the police frequency was P25 digital encrypted.
Radio traffic was minimal, and there was no indication of any undercover activity. So those of us who scan when in Wendover will have to lock out the annoying channel. No EMS or Fire calls were heard, so I don't know if they also went to P25.

Yes as Mike stated 154.740 in West Wendover is P25 encrypted. Lots of garbled traffic yesterday enroute home. However 154.415, the WWFD channel was in the clear as firefighters were discussing dropping by the station for whatever reason.

Basically it sound like what Mesquite did several years ago in scarmbling their PD channel but fire/EMS & public works calls are in the clear.
