I've noticed an issue with programming channels with split PLs (different PL on transmit and receive frequencies) in the above radios.
If you have the 'talk around' feature enabled on a channel with a split PL, the PL will be the transmit PL and not the receive PL (since we're 'talking around' the repeater, it should be the receive PL). This prevents other radios from hearing a user on talk around, unless they enable the monitor function on their receiving radio (not practical for our application).
Newer Vertex models (VX-920 series and VX-4200 series) don't seem to have this issue. .
Anybody else experience this issue? Firmware revision needed perhaps to overcome, or not?
Hope this makes a bit of sense.
Thanks,
-M
