Does know of any frequencies that may or will be active during the storm?

I live in Prince George County if that helps looking for FEMA or other federal stuff as well various STARS Talkgroups.

During the storm the local PG frequencies and STARS would be what to listen to.

Also sky warn is interesting. Even if you don't use a HAM like myself, you can still program a nearby repeater into your scanner and listen in.

Active ham freqs in the area include the Williamsburg machine at 146.760 (primary Tidewater back to state EOC), the 146.880 in Richmond for Skywarn (direct to Wakefield) and the 145.430 machine in Richmond for the local ARES resource net.

If you can pick up HF, distant stations will try to contact the state EOC on 3947 kHz, LSB.
