A number of 110 Watt and 250 Watt base stations. But no mobile license found.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be used for?

I can't offer any local insight to the use of these but I did see that WNHI503 has a mobile license for 1000 units on 45.88 and 46.48 MHz. Area of operation: Countywide: Roanoke County, VA

I'm sure you're aware that both of these freqs are from the old Fire Radio Service pool & 45.88 is reserved for intersystem (interop) use.

Those were the old low band freqs used for Fire-Rescue prior to the implementation of 800 trunking many years ago. 46.48 was primary and 45.88 was secondary channels.

I don't know of any use today and not sure why they have kept the license.

Two reasons a FCC license is not modified in current operations

Over the past years I've had to deal with this situation from different licensees in attempting to document what current frequencies were being used.

One reason I was told years ago by a monitor was since it cost money to modify each license, don't modify the license until the FCC sends the license renewal notice, then do the modification.

If unused frequencies are retained at license renewal time, then it is anybody's guess. Possibly there was not a prior review of the license and was the most expeditious license renewal choice.
