Fairfax County FD reception

I am looking for an indoor antenna which will boost my reception of Fairfax County FD. I am about two miles
from their transmission area. Once in a while I hear them but it is not constant. Have a HP2 w/ RS800 antenna . Cant move the radio to a different spot.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Look on eBay for an old style cell phone mag mount antenna. They usually come with at least a 15 foot cable. Try it in a window sill pointing either at Reston or the West Ox rd. tower. It has to improve a little rubber duck. If possible set it on some kind of ground plane, although I am not sure that helps much.

Fairfax reception

Thanks for the suggestion but I had tried that and no positive results.
Fairfax needs another tower because you always have them in Loudoun.
They wind up in the county quite often especially in the evening. Thats when
the county downgrades units.
i have resigned myself to listening to Loudoun.
