If this thing handled TDMA modes too, they might actually sell a few.

You can bet that it will be sold for >US$600, so who is going to buy one of these things just because it decodes DSTAR and P25 audio on non digital trunking receivers?

Looks like a far cry from the M-6000, M-7000 decoders I bought from Universal and used same to monitor the RTTY press services from around the world in the 1970s and 1980s. This AOR thingie has no RTTY or WEFAX. TASS had a Cuban relay on 25m that "printed" 24/7..Too bad those those news services are long gone.

I can do much more, for about $20, using an RTL2832U dongle and DSD.

AOR is a great company, but sometimes they do weird stuff. I had an ARD25 decoder. It did its job with my AR5000 for P25 decoding, but it really was cost prohibitive.
