I realize that we are dealing with a false positive here but the AV on this computer is not managed by me and it keeps quarantining the file. Has anyone been able to get around the false detection short of excluding that file from scanning?

I ran into that when installing dsd+ and the vb cable for SDR# and, most recently, installing amateur radio logging programs. Some would install, but go to blank white screen when ready, along with a Threat Detected window on my screen. I would make an exception in my firewall but to no avail. Quarantining the files and freezing the program(s). Discarded most and still looking for a nice simple logging program specifically for vhf/uhf local contacts. I am still working on decoding P25 1 voice from sdr# but doing something wrong. I mess with it a little each day, eventually I will stumble into it and make it work lol

Can you report/submit file/s as false positive to AV vendor?
Or get administrator to add exclusion or report false positive for you.
