In Grant County does any of the fire districts use the VHF tac frequencies? Or are they only heard on the MACC p25 system? I don't seem to hear traffic on the repeated or simplex VHF tac frequencies listed in the database.

Most all comms are on MACC. The VHF is probably used as a backup if the main trunking system should go down. If you are close to an active incident you may want to listen in on the 800Mhz state-ops frequencies. I don't know if the use them but worth a try.

The MACC 800 P25 fire TGs work great for all of the County for both dispatch and tac. The VHF dispatch Fire 1, 2 and 3 repeaters are simulcast with the MACC 800 sys. but I was curious if the tac channels were used. FCC database shows frequencies still licensed.
I'm pretty sure the simplex tac frequencies wouldn't function well with the trunk system.

Thanks
