Hi group, how much more battery drain would there be if the LCD was left on as apposed to off???

Battery drain

My manual a little vague so I measured mine.

Scanner on - no light, not scanning 61 ma
Scanner on - light on, not scanning 76 ma

Scanner on - no light and scanning 179 ma
Scanner on - light on, and scanning 195 ma

This looks like 10% so if your scanner will work for 10 hours with light off ballpark says it will work for 9 hours with the light on.

The LCD can also be set to come on when it receives a signal.

You can also dim the backlight with LiteLevel.

What I have seen is basic ohm's law as voltage goes down current goes up. I have seen this in led light bars strobe light bars and many other electronics. This should see the same result.

I leave the keypad light off and it makes a huge difference.Also I leave my display dim.
And limit the LED flashing lights to just my town,and I go all day with my 2400mah batterys.
