TRX-2 Scanner with 1095 Head

Will a TRX-2 scanner work with a 1095 head?

I like the 1095 head because the buttons are larger, but not sure if it will work on a TRX-2.

1095 and 1098 are interchangeable, so I would assume that holds true for the TRX2

Hello,

The main unit and the head unit both have processors and communicate over a serial link. A 1098 head may work if the wiring is the same and the protocol is the same. One potential problem is the 1098 head may not have any added symbols or messages.

The TRX-2 main unit firmware may lack the code present in the 1095/1098 main unit firmware to handle the reduced keyboard since it only has to support one type of head unit.

Wistler Wendy posted that 1095 and 1098 interchange. In fact, she also said the 1098 head was $99 direct from Whistler.
