Default WS1040

Does anyone else have this issue with the ws1040. When using AC power, I'm not picking up radio traffic as well as when I use the battery power. Im not sure if it's the radio or if this is a normal thing. Whistler has no idea. Thanks.

When powering through batteries oper the squelch on an analog weather channel then plug the unit in. My best guess is there's a lot of noise coming from the power adapter.

Thanks I will try that. I was also told to wrap the power cord around a large nut. That didn't help.

I have a Pro-651, essentially the same radio, running on a cheapest-of-the-cheap power supply from Menard's...it works fine. Follow the advice above to diagnose the problem, you must have a really horribly noisy power supply.
