Using EZscan to import conventional frequencies for hospitals, snow plows, local business, security companies, etc, and I am referencing the PDF file for all FCC licenses and there are numerous frequencies to be put into EZscan but I don't know how to copy and fill or if that is even possible. The programmer gives you a 'New Channel' option but for just one frequency. Is there a trick or hack to copy and paste a whole block of frequencies straight from the PDF into EZscan or is it the tedious one-at-a-time option? Any help greatly appreciated - thanks!

So you're trying to import all of those frequencies without using the RR library info within EZScan, correct...?

If you can copy and paste the info from the PDF into an Excel spreadsheet, then the following template might help...it gives you examples of the various options to import.
Zippyshare.com - EZ-SCAN_Template.xlsx

Once you've got the template ready, copy the data including the column headers to clipboard, then go to EZScan > Conventional freqs > Clipboard import.

I can't find those frequencies in the import section of EZ Scan. There are maybe 2 or 3 in the database, but when I opened the FCC licensing file I found 7-8 frequencies for my local hospital and a whole bunch of city frequencies that never came up in the import option.

Clipboard import, gotcha - thanks for that. I don't have Excel, tho. I will check out the price and go from there.

I guess I need to play around with it some more. I am not finding a LOT of frequencies in the import function that I am finding in FCC searches and sites such as Monix. For example, I was searching for Fairfield Mall security frequencies last night and I found the list (Greene County Ohio) and it listed four frequencies 464.550,464.575, 464.875, and a frequency for Elder Beerman Loss Prevention. Then I searched the FCC database and found another in the FCC report- 469.575 and it happens to be the busiest one so far. The FCC report lists more than several freqs for my local hospital, but there are only 2 in the import library. Maybe I am just not digging deep enough into EZ Scan, I don't know.

Thanks for the replies, guys

Not sure how familiar you are with all of this but they won't be in the RRDB unless someone uploads them. But you are correct, doing some digging and figuring will definitely provide more/better results. It just depends on what you're interested in listening to.

I am indeed a male... but thanks for asking ;)

Simply a play on words, if you will, as in, jealous of everyone who has large antennas...

Could you share that file again, this time use somewhere that doesn't make me look at an very young girl with her boobs half out before getting a "this site is blocked for your safety" type message.

1st thought is download openoffice for a FREE spread sheet program.

2nd thought is did you check digitalfrequencysearch, com ( uses quick import to get them in ezscan)

LibreOffice has a fairly complete suite of office programs. Probably very similar to OpenOffice. Also free.

Sorry Brian...no idea why zippyshare is doing that (I've never had it blocked/porn ads there).
Try this one: www.transfernow.net/194zx1r1p6fs (...else drop me an email, and I'll send you direct)
As you're UK based, I've also added in my list of UK STH and PBR channels if that helps.

The digitalfrequency, com site is awesome. I imported quite a bit from there. Some stuff that I thought was straight convention was DMR and now I am hearing traffic on those as well. A LOT of hospital channels there that are DMR, too. I probably imported 200-some frequencies and assigned them to scanlists. Love it when a plan comes together, thanks to you guys!

I downloaded the free Apache office and so far very impressed with the features and screenshots. Thanks much guys!

While Changing the Scanlists numbers on the list of talkgroup details list, is there a way to highlight a group on the list all at the same time other than holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on all of them one at a time?

Use the Shift key. Click on one item, go up or down and click the other item while pressing the Shift key, it will highlight all in between.
