EZ-Scan database updates via VPN

Anyone know if Whistler is blocking updating the database from within EZ-Scan while connected to some/most commercial VPN services? I haven't done any troubleshooting yet (e.g. Wireshark) but I'm often away from home and can never seem to update when I have a VPN connection active (socket error) but it works fine from home or if I disable the VPN (not smart on public wi-fi). If so, why? The database has some value but come-on, it's not that useful to anyone outside the community, this is along the same lines as blocking exporting from EZ-Scan, getting in the way of licensed users due to fear of theft?. I can access the rest of RR without issue on VPN.

Amigo, bit prematurely start using Wireshark, aye ? Did you actually contact someone in Whistler yet.
It may not be the case or their fault in the first place. and you're right it is NOT in their interest to block any IP addresses or VPN traffic.
just check my setup, I can update from my ISP IP and via Nord VPN connected to US server OK ?
Could be Windows problem after last updates.
