Welcome to the RR Wiki forum. The wiki environment is very different from any other website in several ways, not the least of which is the topic of who writes the articles and supplies the information found here.

In a word you do. On this site, we use the ‘dialect’ known as MediaWiki (there are numerous others) as the scripting language. If you want to learn about the wiki markup language (similar in concept to HTML), the following links are recommended;

We also have a RR Wiki User’s Guide which will help you with most of the common questions and answers. Please take the time to read these documents. Please be sure to read - and abide by - the forum rules Lindsay has posted in that forum.

This forum’s basic purpose will be to discuss how to utilize and get comfortable with the wiki. Some of the topics (but by no means all) might include ‘how to’ questions, proposals for new articles, identifying which articles need some work, exposing the wiki to sources outside of RR, and ways to utilize the wiki to make your experience easier and more comfortable.

Notice I mentioned you again. This is your area, and as such, it’s dependent on the membership to add and correct the data. After all, we all make mistakes; data becomes obsolete; or perhaps something that is already there needs correcting. If you identify something that needs fixing, you are hereby notified that 2 words apply;

Fix It!

If you need help figuring out how to go about doing that, or need to figure out how to use a particular function, speak up. This too is a valid topic for this forum. Bezking and myself are not admirals – we’re guides. Feel free to experiment. Don’t be too concerned that you might ruin an article – as explained in the user’s guide (you did read it, didn’t you?) you can revert the article back to its original format.

Let’s hear from you (there’s that word again) about how the wiki could be utilized to improve your understanding of the many topics found there. The forum is open for business.
