Here are a few tips to help resolve some confusion with some of the items I've seen entered of late..

- Please don't leave a bare link hanging. This is very poor style. A 'bare link' is one where you can read the URL and it has no hyperlink attached. Creating a link to an external website is a cinch - all you need to is surround it with single square brackets
- Do not sign/timestamp your articles. The change logs capture all changes and new entries; who puts them in, when and what section was changed. You can view the change logs yourself - from the wiki pulldown, click on Recent Changes; or click on the Wiki Updates button at the bottom right of the front page
- There seems to be a great deal of confusion as to how to properly link to a PDF document once it is uploaded to the wiki. While it is uploaded as an 'image', it's a little confusing, since it isn't a graphics format (although it can contain graphics). The correct way to link is to use the Media command, like so;
PHP:[[Media:oneida_co_fd_map.pdf|Oneida County FD Map]] (PDF document)
Notice that I have inserted hyperlink text after the file name and vertical bar, and added a comment as to what kind of file it is. Doing so may help the user decide whether the file can be read; in this example, you need Adobe Acrobat. The Media command can upload other kinds of files, so being specific is a good idea.
