Actually, no, the same spammer (I think) came in using a different user name and re-inserted the spam.

Handled...again.

Thank you.

It looks like the same content has been added to another page, using another username:

Revision History: Diplomatic Security Service

Thanks,

Seems to be using Moderator/DB Admin's profiles with an extra digit on the end

Default A list of new users

I don't know if this can be done, but a "Special Page:New Users" feature might make it easier to spot and report these kind of spammers.

Just a thought,

Good job deleting that mountain of spam files. It looks like there might be about five filenames that include the word "crack" or "hack" or "cheat", still listed at the bottom of the Unused files page. I wasn't willing to click on them to find out if they really still exist or not.

Hope this helps,

Good morning Admins,

It looks like the SPAMmers are at it again. Please check PMs.

Thanks,

Handled. Thank you.

BTW, if you send us a PM about spam in the Wiki, there's no need to report it in the forum. I don't know about Mike, but I get an immediate notification when someone PMs me.

I sent a PM hoping that it would notify you in case there might be a delay in you seeing the related post in this thread. (I would have also blanked the page, but during an earlier incident you advised me to let Admins be the ones to investigate and blank "User" pages.)

I note SPAM incident(s) here so that others will know that the SPAM has been found and reported, and in the (possibly idealistic) hope that noting it here will help others be more attuned to catching and reporting SPAM in the Wiki, and that by publicly reporting SPAM here, (ideally) human SPAMmers might notice and get the idea that SPAMming on this site is not worth their effort.

Just one idea, even if it is "wishful thinking".

Thanks again,

Thank you for the kind words, rafdav! It definitely takes a team-effort. I too am thankful for everyone's hard work, for the years of hard work contributed by many people. It has helped make Radio Reference a place where quality and cooperation are expected and encouraged, a philosophy which in itself helps motivate others to give time, when they have some available, to help continue building on all of the work already done by others, and to share their expertise and wisdom with the rest of us who are still learning.

Thanks again,
