1065 vs unication g5

If the system is simulcast, the 1065 isn't designed to handle it. The G5 is designed for use in public safety, so it receives as well as a subscriber radio does. The only other options designed to handle simulcast would be the SDS series scanners, or an SDR dongle.

You're going to need to provide some info on what specific system(s), site(s) and/or conventional channel(s) your WS1065 is struggling to pick up to get any sort of relevant answer. Your county operates on Ohio MARCS. I would only suspect simulcast distortion if you're monitoring the Blue Creek cell and are within listening range to the two sites pictured below. The other 4 sites listed for Adams County are single, non-simulcast sites. If this were to be the case, upgrading the antenna will only make the issue worse
