i wanted to know about some good portable antennas (bnc) that wont stress the bc125at bnc connector, preferably telescopic and having some good range? i would prefer if it was wide-band capable, i have seen posts about the rh77ca but i wanted to know if there was any other goodones. i would not mind an extendable one either. so long as its portable.

Your title says air band but thread says wide band. Then you mention rh77ca which is tuned for dual band. 144 and 440. If you’re looking for a specific band, then you don’t really want wide band. What exactly are you looking for?

i just want one that can do airband frequency well but can still cover a good range. i am definitely leaning towards the rh77ca but i wanted to know if there is any others before i get it.

I bought an Abbree AM-771 Antenna Tri Band, for my Quansheng. The base fits such that even hard flexing doesn't overstress the radio antenna connector.
144/220/430MHz SMA. Bought mainly for mill air uhf.
I tested this with my Nano VNA. Besides good match at 144/220/and 430, It has a reasonable match down to 110 MHz.
Picked up my local ATIS with this, so has to be decent.
You would need an SMA male to BNC male adapter for the scanner.
Good part, less than $5 on AliExpress.

I find smiley antenna is much better than the well-claimed rh77ca (I have BNC and SMA version). the 125-132 range, well enough to cover 118 and 136 ends. The metal super stick is even better, but not quite portable.

Given, the seller is kind of exaggerate gain, but at the end of the day, it is better than the diamond one. (It works better on my uniden BC125AT, BCT15x and ICOM R15)

I agree about the Smiley antenna, excellent performance for VHF air. Diamond SRH77CA & SRH 1230 were a disappointment as compared to Smiley.
