Maybe it's just me, but I don't remember one night with more action than last night.

Officer involved shooting after a pursuit (CHP, Hwy99)
SSD unit involved in an injury collision (PI)
187 on SD3. Code 3 request for crowd control.
Active shooter on SP (4 or 6, don't remember). Fired off at least a dozen rounds while I was listening. Full SWAT callout.

I know there was more, but can't remember offhand.

The holiday season is stressful indeed.

expect it to get worse. so far, this holiday season has been very quiet. i think it'll get a LOT worse.

at work they've told us to expect the worst holiday season for crime in years.

I guess it depends on exactly what you're listening too. I've heard quite a few nights recently that sounded as bad as the one you mentioned. One thing I've noticed is that the number of auto stops which result in a "foot chase" seems to be on the rise. That bothers me from many aspects. I suspect those fleeing have major reasons to not be stopped/caught .. I've lost count of the number of chases which were initiated for "traffic" and turned out to be for a lot more.

Also that first major rain of the season is being blamed for the multitude of wrecks out there. I hate the fact they're called "accidents". The only part that is the accident is whoever gave these people driver's licenses.

I was looking more at the severity of the incidents. I know there are nights where it seems the police olympics are going on.

But not every night has CHP shoot a PAL that tried to run them over. And a patrol unit crash with a citizen. And a guy hanging out his bathroom window popping rounds off that requires evacuations of the whole neighborhood. And where 2 districts are rolling code for crowd control.

Yes, when the rain comes, CHP is non-stop. It was just an observation. Seemed busier than most nights I remember...and the biggest incidents were not run-of-the-mill.

last night was insane in the membrane for the South Placer County Area. Seems like Roseville asked for air support about a million times. At least 2 major perp searches, several DUIs. It made for some great listening.

Oh by the way. I've been hearing some HIDTA traffic lately. If you'd like the frequency or channel, shoot me a PM.
