So I'm going to get back into scanning and SWL. I have an Icom R8500, AOR 5000+3, a Colibri DDC SDR and a good discone, need something for MF-HF. I don't have space in my yard for a pole and radials nor could I rig up a pole for a dipole or anything else BUT ......... I do own the adjacent property and there is a huge tree about 150ft away that I could string up an end fed with one end about 60ft off the ground and the other going into my attic side vent that is about 15ft off the ground. Be like a giant sloper or something. Looking to cover go MF-10m on it, use the discone for anything above that.

Suggestions and thoughts appreciated.

Take a look at the Alpha Delta DX-SWL sloper or PAR EF-SWL. I have used both and they work well. Interference from local noise was the only issue I had with them.

How is the RF noise in your area? If noise is an issue then I suggest considering an active receive loop such as a Wellbrook, MFJ 1886, or W6LVP. They can be mounted on a cheap rotor if desired to help null out local noise. They tend to work best when mounted only 5-20' off the ground. In the past I had one mounted directly to the trunk of a tree and it worked fine.
