Heard some testing on a repeater on 154.250MHz last Friday Afternoon. The PL tone was 218.1. There was no voice, just a tone for about 30 seconds, several times.

There are two licenses for 154.250MHz in the metro area:

1. Richland Fire (WNWD405)

2. Mid/Del Schools (WQDC494)

I haven't heard either on this frequency, but I wondered if it might be the Mid/Del School District getting ready for a Friday Night football game. Anyone in the Midwest City area hear anything on 154.250MHz?

woody has been focused on monitoring the city of Norman preparations for the game Saturday. I'll put 154.250 in one of the radios and see what happens. It may not be very successful, because something around here is causing constant interference on that frequency and my computer just makes it worse. The only scanners that I have that do CTCSS are the ones who also do trunking and digital and they stay occupied on that.

Well, I’ve been listening for almost two weeks and don’t have much to report.

Someone or something keys it several times a day causing it to id. I listened and have determined that it ids as WQDC494 without a /R. I have yet to hear anything intelligible. I don’t keep up with when the Mid-Del Schools have home games so I can’t positively determine if it is a “game only” phenomenon. I resurrected an older scanner and set it up away from interference so if it ever does become active while I’m in town, I’ll pass it on.

More info.

My curiosity finally got the best of me. This mystery repeater kerchunked and identified one time too many at the beginning of the Midwest City Fire Department radio checks – and got my curiosity up. The repeater input for MCFD 1 is 153.77 and the repeater in for this one is 153.7625. I wonder if the Mid-Del repeater input is carrier squelch. I have been suspicious that somehow MCFD transmissions are the someone or something that has been keying this machine and causing it to id since I started listening to it.
