The Sioux Falls SD TRS system has 155.475 listed as one of the digital voice channels.
Surely this cannot be. If they ever did key up there, they'd wreak havoc across SW MN and NW IA -- as they use that as an analog mutual aid frequency. In Minnesota it's called MINSEF -- the statewide emergency frequency. In Iowa it's used between agencies to coordinate emergency response.
Could it be that this is ACTUALLY a channel installed for analog mutual aid with out-of-state departments?
Although, I haven't heard any SD traffic on that fq since the days when METRO would send "any unit in position" alerts on it before the digital system . . .
With Sioux Falls edging ever closer to the IA and MN borders, it would sure make sense to have a liaison frequency . . .
For that matter, MN is moving toward the 800 MHz Digital Trunked ARMER system and Iowa is looking at a future 700 MHz system. But no one seems to be talking out-of-state interoperability . . . a big thing in my area . . .
